Our People
Dr. Ashley Shafferman
Founder + Physician
Dr. Shafferman was born and raised in Birmingham, where a passion and vision for medicine was instilled by her parents, both Doctors of Optometry. She studied biology at Furman University, graduating summa cum laude and receiving the prestigious Furman Fellows award. She completed her Doctor of Medicine at the University of Alabama School of Medicine, and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society.
After medical school, she and her husband moved to Arlington, Virginia where she completed her internship and residency at Inova Children's Hospital. She has served in private practices in Virginia and Alabama, and brings a decade of experience to Seeds.
Dr. Shafferman is board certified, a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and a member of the American Medical Association. She is married to her best friend and college sweetheart, Will, an Anglican priest and rector of Restoration Anglican Church in Vestavia. They are the proud parents of two beautiful little girls and a sweet baby boy.
